This famous villa was built in the mid 19th century and inhabited by feudal landlords, who, like many, became wealthy with the production and export of the famous Vin Santo, which is still produced on the island.
The villa is situated a short walk from the central square of the village, with its beautiful churches and picturesque Venetian bell towers. The village of Megalochori, with its winding cobbled streets, is absolutely free of traffic.

Free Car Rental - One manual car rental is provided for the whole length of the stay at our villa. The vehicle provided by the agent is usually a 5 seat hatch back, which is very well suited to the narrow roads of the island. Third party insurance & unlimited miliage are included, while the fee-paying CDW (collision damage waiver) insurance is optional.
Transfers - Our car rental agent will meet guests at the port or airport and escort them to the villa.
Housekeeper - Our housekeeper will refresh the villa daily. We provide fresh towels daily and weekly changed bed linens.
Concierge Service - Our concierge is available during your stay to provide you with suggestions on what to do, where to eat & other hidden treasures of our lovely island.

Mansion Sophia is located in the quiet and picturesque village of Megalochori within walking distance of the main square and right in the center of the island of Santorini.
Megalochori is a traditional village with narrow cobbled streets, with no car traffic, and famous for its vineyards and production, among others, of the excellent Santorini Vinsanto.

The villa can accommodate up to 4 people.
Access to the house is through massive wooden gates that lead into a secluded and pretty private courtyard with a garden and a beautiful Moroccan-style swimming pool. In the small courtyard guests can enjoy dining "al fresco" under the sky of Santorini, whilst absorbing the village atmosphere almost within arms reach.
The building has been completely renovated to offer all modern comforts whilst retaining the character and style of the original house.
Double doors lead directly from the courtyard into a spacious living and dining area with vaulted ceilings and original polished wooden floors.
The two double bedrooms, a master bedroom with a 4-poster bed and a smaller double bedroom, lead off from either side of the central living room.
One bathroom in hushed hues and equipped with all modern amenities is shared between the two bedrooms.
The kitchen has an original stone arch which now serves as a washing up and preparation area. The modern facilities of the villa include: air conditioning in both bedrooms, wireless Internet access, satellite TV and DVD player, iPod docking station and a mobile phone free of charge.
